Silvana has been interested in needle work since she was a child, learning to crotchet, knit, embroider and sew from her mother and grandmother. She has studied jewelry making and silversmithing at Mohawk College, Sheridan College, The Burlington Art Centre as well as at the Beadflow studio in Hamilton where she continues her studies. Her work has been published in Bead & Button Magazine, Beadwork and the Canadian Beading Magazine, where she has been both a winner and runner up in her designs.
She has been a part of Art in Action in Burlington since 2009 and also sells her work privately, at home shows and through local retailers.
Silvana teaches jewelry making both in her home as well as in her community, teaching both adults and children this very therapeutic craft. She is inspired by the world around her, natural and man-made. She enjoys working and experimenting with new materials to create her one-of-kind designs.
